Within the context of preventive fire insulation, floor drains with vertical outlets are regarded as pipe/ceiling feed-throughs that require sealing off. That also applies to courtyard and car park drains, as well as roof drains in concrete and steel trapezoidal roofs
For roof drains in concrete surfaces, Dallmer offers a fire insulation system, that offer a reliable fire protection solution for solid concrete flat roofs without a water trap. These fire insulation roof drains can be combined with all standard roof waterproofing. Steel trapezoidal-profiled roofs are often used in industrial buildings because they are lightweight, easy to handle and enable fast construction. Due to their geometric characteristics, they are subject to specific fire insulation specifications, whereby the focus is primarily on roof penetrations, such as roof drains, in order to prevent further fire spread via the roof. Dallmer has developed its fire insulating element "Steel trapezoid" especially for such roof attachments: in order to enable attachment of the insulating material to the drain body, this element is attached to the steel trapezoid structure.
